Welcome to the Dialogue
Hello and welcome to CEA Digital Dialogue, the official blog site of the Consumer Electronics Association.
We have a bright and energetic staff of about 150 here at CEA with a wide array of knowledge and considerable interest in consumer electronics. A few of them are what I consider to be extreme CE consumers and we have our share of serial early adopters too. Our goal is to make this a must-bookmark page for everyone with an interest in consumer electronics, technology policy, and the world of innovation.
In my role as Queen of Blogs I will attempt to “un-pent” our staff’s pent-up knowledge and release it into the wild in manageable chunks.
As well as enthusiastic and knowledgeable, we can also be opinionated and we expect no less of you. So, we would love to hear what you think, and what you’d like to know more about. Feel free to comment and thus really put the “dialogue” into digital dialogue.
Upcoming Events
This week we’re inviting our industry to the nation’s capital to meet with top
political thinkers on key issues that affect our industry. We’ll be live-blogging from Washington Forum on April 2 and 3 so tune in for highlights from our keynoters including Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez and the sure-to-be lively panel discussions on issues such as: free trade, the DTV transition, environmental issues and digital rights management.
We’re also releasing some interesting new industry research this week; download the (free) new Washington Insider Series white paper on the Wireless revolution and U.S .Spectrum Policy as well as two new International Insider Series white papers on Foreign Trade Zones and New CE markets in Eastern Europe.
On Wednesday evening we’ll be honoring: Ivan Seidenberg, CEO of Verizon, Congressman Tom Davis, and Senator Patrick Leahy as our 2008 CEA Digital Patriots at a special dinner in Washington, DC. This year all proceeds from the Digital Patriots dinner will go to the USO of Metropolitan Washington to support those who serve and their families.
