CEA Publications – Not Just for Members
My bread and butter job at CEA – when I’m not working on the Digital Dialogue blog – is as an editor for CEA’s Publications. Before Joining CEA, I had either deliberately or, sometimes accidentally, worked on a number of association publications on a range of topics from agricultural youth organizations and national defense installations, to competitive intelligence. The big difference in working with CEA’s publications, apart from the obvious fact that it doesn’t involve dairy farming or weaponry, is that we make our publications available (online) to everyone, not just to our member companies.
I believe (to paraphrase Dolly Levi’s comment to Horace Vandergelder in “Hello Dolly!”) “Information is like manure, it’s no good unless you spread it around.” Knowing that the world of consumer electronics can be a large, rapidly changing and sometimes confusing place, I hope you’ll turn to our publications first for the latest in unbiased CE information. Here’s an overview of what’s available online:
CE Vision Magazine – our bi-monthly flagship publication covers all the latest industry trends and news and, features our exclusive “Visionary” interviews with industry leaders.
CEA’s Corporate Report – an annual update on CEA’s accomplishments for the past year, along with goals for the coming year and a look at the overall strength and size of the CE industry.
*Digital America – a once-yearly round-up of the entire CE industry from the smallest digital cameras to the largest TV screens and everything in between. Using CEA’s exclusive access to industry facts and figures, along with statistical analysis, industry timelines and a complete CE history, Digital America is the universal CE reference chosen by academic and public libraries.
Five Technology Trends to Watch – Each year our research analysts and editorial staff provide a look at the up and coming technologies and trends that influence our industry.
The International Insider Series – this series of white papers takes a look at opportunities in the global CE marketplace.
The Washington Insider Series - this series of white papers educates lawmakers and government officials about the policy issues affecting the CE industry.
The interactive versions of all these publications give you the ability to dynamically search, turn pages, and even click directly to linked websites. Past issues of publications are also available on the website.
The final piece of my CEA communications repertoire is providing one of the voices for our daily CEA SmartBrief news service podcasts. These free podcasts are a great way to catch up on industry news when you’re commuting, traveling, or just chilling in your office or living room. Listen to the SmartBrief podcasts either directly from your computer, or download them to your iPod via iTunes.
*An abridged version of Digital America is available to everyone. CEA members have free access to the full-length version, and non-members may purchase the full version in print or CD format via the CEA online store.
