At the 2009 International CES, we’ll again bring together representatives from emerging countries with leaders from the CE industry and international financial community in the Technology and Emerging Countries (TEC) program. The TEC program focuses on the role technology plays in furthering economic growth in emerging countries.

This year the panel discussion will be highlighted by keynote speakers: Intel Chairman Craig Barrett and Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers. Both Intel and Cisco are active in the international community and partner with international foundations, the United Nations, the World Economic Forum and several other international aid programs.

The program begins on Friday, January 9, 2009 and will feature a panel “Reaching the Promise of Universal Access to Technology: Creating the Global Tech Ecosystem”. Panelists include:

Moderator: Eric Nonacs, Managing Director for Global Affairs, Endeavour Financial Ltd.

Below, guest blogger Brooke Partridge, CEO of Vital Wave Consulting shares her thoughts and recommendations for private-sector investors and development communities on avoiding some of the pitfalls of the global development partnership.
