Powering Up and Saving the Environment at CES Unveiled
January 6, 2009 |CES Unveiled serves as an opportunity to get a sneak preview of many of the hottest gadgets hitting the CES show floor this year. It is a chance for media, analysts and bloggers to sample some of the most innovative products (as well as cocktails and hors d’oeuvres!) and get a head start on learning about some of the 2,700 exhibitors and more than 300 new companies exhibiting at the 2009 International CES. After getting the chance to attend CES Unveiled in New York, it was incredible to see Unveiled on a larger scale here in Las Vegas.
Press clamored to get a glimpse of Powermat. These wireless energy products allow users to charge portable electronic devices like phones, MP3 players, laptops and more! Powermat is changing the way that consumers get energized. Imagine charging all your gadgets at once without the mess of tangled wires. I’d love to keep one in my car for on-the-go use or on my bedside table to avoid tripping over wires in an early morning stupor.
Fuji EnviroMAX Batteries had quite a crowded booth at CES Unveiled. These batteries are all around environmentally friendly, from the packaging to the manufacture of the batteries themselves. They are packaged in recycled cardboard and non-toxic peet plastic. The batteries are encased in pure iron meaning that over time the batteries will rust, break down and go away. I was able to speak with Jeff Kreindenweis of Fuji EnviroMax Batteries who stressed that, “It is important to take care of things,” he said, “It’s important to throw things away that will go away.” When I asked him why they chose to premiere this environmentally friendly product at The International Consumer Electronics Show he smiled and stated simply,
Where else?”
