Why did you decide to exhibit at the International CES?
CES 2009 featured our most extensive new product launch in our 10-year history and was a great showcase for our new HDTVs and portable media players. We were able to reach a large number of influencers and highlight everything from our designer-influenced F-Series HDTVs, as well as highlighting the expansion of our portable media devices. Our new line of high-definition televisions is a major step in the evolution of Haier home theater entertainment. Our T-Series offers full HD 1080p experience with 120Hz Refresh Rate technology, SRS TruSurround XT Sound and four HDMI inputs.Overall it was the show to put us in the middle of the action and we were able to focus on our NBA partnership with a number of NBA Legend appearances.

What is one thing you’d like our readers to know about your products/services?
For 2009 we really expanded our portable media suite of products and put a tremendous amount of research into providing products that customers need and want, with a value added proposition that both retailers and end purchasers will appreciate.
What personally, is the one gadget you can’t live without – for work? And for play?
I think like most people in business, it’s my Blackberry, it keeps me in constant contact with everyone. For play, everyone needs a large flat screen TV to enjoy an NBA game.
Do you sell your products internationally? If so, in what global markets?
Haier is a multinational company with distribution in South America, Canada, India, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and China.
What is one thing you’d like CEA/CES to do differently?
CEA/CES should just be more sensitive about weekends; the retail trade doesn’t want to spend two straight weekends in Las Vegas.
