CEA Promotes Driver Safety
July 23, 2010 |Today, since dawn, there has been major activity, not to mention a hulking great truck, outside the normally serene and tree-shaded entrance to the CEA building. Located in Crystal City, VA, just across the bridge from Washington, DC, an area notoriously full of tourists this time of year, the CEA building and its activities were causing a considerable amount of distraction to passing pedestrians this morning but it was all in a good cause.
CEA staffer and spokesperson Steve Kidera braved the nearly 100 degree heat (and humidity) to broadcast live to TV stations across the nation on the timely subject of safe driving. Steve demonstrated an array of consumer electronics products that are designed to aid the driver and reduce or eliminate the need to take eyes and hands of the road and controls. A technology-equipped Ford Fiesta was on hand to provide additional eye-candy and allowed Steve to demonstrate safe driving tactics.
I caught up with Steve following his morning Satellite Media Tour to learn more about driver safety and how technology can help reduce distractions while on the road.
